Ein interessanter Chartergast sorgte Anfang August am Flughafen Z\u00fcrich f\u00fcr Aufmerksamkeit: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Boeing 737-800 mit der Registrierung LY-KDT wurde f\u00fcr den Transport des FC St. Gallen zu einem Ausw\u00e4rtsspiel in der UEFA Europa League eingesetzt<\/strong>. Die Maschine traf am 4. August in Z\u00fcrich ein und blieb \u00fcber Nacht am Flughafen. Am Vormittag des 5. August hob LY-KDT mit der Mannschaft an Bord in Richtung des Spielortes ab. Nach dem erfolgreichen Einsatz im europ\u00e4ischen Wettbewerb kehrte die Boeing 737 am 7. August am Nachmittag gemeinsam mit der Mannschaft nach Z\u00fcrich zur\u00fcck.Die LY-KDT bot dabei nicht nur f\u00fcr die mitreisenden Spieler und das Betreuerteam eine komfortable Verbindung, sondern war auch f\u00fcr Aviation-Enthusiasten ein interessanter Chartergast. Solche kurzfristigen Sportcharter sorgen regelm\u00e4ssig f\u00fcr Abwechslung im t\u00e4glichen Linien- und Frachtverkehr am Flughafen Z\u00fcrich. Auch die Geschichte der LY-KDT ist durchaus bemerkenswert. Die Boeing 737-522 tr\u00e4gt die MSN 26691 und wurde bereits im Dezember 1992 bei Boeing in Renton fertiggestellt. Noch im selben Monat wurde sie als N948UA an United Airlines ausgeliefert, wo sie mehrere Jahre im regul\u00e4ren Passagierverkehr eingesetzt wurde. Im weiteren Verlauf ihrer Karriere wechselte die Maschine unter anderem zu CanJet, bevor sie 2007 als YL-BBQ zur lettischen airBaltic gelangte. Dort blieb sie bis 2018 im Einsatz. Nach einer l\u00e4ngeren Abstellzeit wurde die inzwischen mehr als 25 Jahre alte Boeing von KlasJet \u00fcbernommen und f\u00fcr Charter- und VIP-Eins\u00e4tze umger\u00fcstet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Boeing 737 with registration LY-KDT was used to transport FC St. Gallen to an away match in the UEFA Europa League<\/strong>. The aircraft arrived at Zurich Airport on August 4 and remained overnight. On the morning of August 5, LY-KDT departed Zurich with the team on board, heading to the destination of the European fixture. Following the team\u2019s European campaign, the Boeing 737 returned to Zurich on the afternoon of August 7, bringing the players and staff back home. The LY-KDT not only provided a convenient connection for the players and coaching staff, but was also an interesting charter visitor for aviation enthusiasts. Short-notice sports charters such as this regularly add variety to the daily mix of scheduled passenger and cargo traffic at Zurich Airport. The history of LY-KDT is also particularly interesting. The Boeing 737-522, MSN 26691, was completed at Boeing\u2019s Renton facility in December 1992. Later that same month, it was delivered to United Airlines as N948UA, where it spent several years in regular passenger service. Over the course of its career, the aircraft also operated for CanJet before joining Latvian carrier airBaltic in 2007 as YL-BBQ. It remained with the airline until 2018. After a period in storage, the now more than 25-year-old Boeing 737 was acquired by KlasJet and converted for charter and VIP operations. The FC St. Gallen charter is another chapter in the long and varied career of this Boeing 737, which has evolved from a conventional airline workhorse into a specialised aircraft for exclusive charter operations.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
