We’re planning to return to the USA in style, for a trip combining two airshows, one featuring the US Navy Blue Angels and the other featuring the USAF Thunderbirds. Based on our experience from our previous visit, we will dedicate more time for wrecks and relics and the Pima Air and Space Museum, and an optional flight over the Davis Monthan and Goodyear boneyards.
Arriving at Phoenix, we will head to Yuma in preparation for the airshow, with one day spotting from outside for the rehearsals, and the airshow day itself. We will then return to the Phoenix area, with spotting days at Luke AFB (an international F-35 training hub, as well as a base for the civilian Mirage F.1s, an optional flight over AMARG, two full mornings at Pima Air and Space Museum (to minimise heat haze), outside spotting at Davis Monthan, followed by the airshow itself.
